If you are thinking of joining a ruck for the first time, you probably have a lot of questions. One of them probably is:
“What do I need?!?”
In fact, I’m going to bet that this is your biggest question, and possibly one that is holding you back from joining us. So, we’ve put together a list of things you will need or may like to have.
- Ruck/Backpack
- We all wear a backpack, a weight is optional
- Ruck Plate or weight (if you’d like a more challenging ruck)
- Hiking Boots/Trail Shoes
- Wool Socks
- Hydration System
- Weather appropriate gear (Hat & Gloves for cold weather, sun protection in warmer weather)
- Bug Spray
- Food and Snacks
- Fuel: Salt pills, Cliff Bars, Trail mix, electrolyte drinks (ie. gatorade)
- TP
- Zip Lock Bag
As you ruck more, you’ll figure out more things that you prefer to have and what you don’t personally need.
